open_house_smallIn celebration of National Police Week, the North Vancouver RCMP will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, May 17 from 10 am to 2 pm. In recognition of our policing partners this year we will host a display of our neighbouring first responder agencies honouring them specifically.

The street in front of the North Vancouver RCMP Police Detachment at 147 East, 14th Street, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to allow for a number of informative displays and demonstrations by the North Vancouver emergency responders. Some of the participating agencies will be the North Vancouver RCMP – North Shore Fire Rescue – North Shore Emergency Management – North Shore Search & Rescue – Adventure Smart – Metro Vancouver and Royal Canadian Marine SAR (Search And Rescue).

I cordially invite you to come out and join us for this fun, informative event, said Supt Chris Kennedy, Officer in Charge of the North Vancouver RCMP Detachment. I look forward to seeing our community help us celebrate National Police Week along with acknowledging and appreciating the other exemplary emergency services that play an integral part in keeping our community safe.

Tours of the RCMP Detachment building along with the North Shore Emergency Operations Center will be available to the public during this time.

This is a great opportunity for members of the community to meet RCMP officers along with emergency responders staff and volunteers.

National Police Week is an annual event dedicated to increasing community awareness and recognition of police services.
