Vancouver: The Vancouver Police have made a large and significant drug seizure after a traffic stop in East Vancouver.

On December 6th at about 7:30 pm, patrol officers stopped two men in a SUV. Officers observed behaviour they considered suspicious and subsequently located what they believed to be approximately four kilograms of cocaine. The vehicle was towed and police obtained a warrant to continue searching for additional evidence.

A search of the SUV the next day turned up an additional 52 kilograms of the suspected drug.

The two men, one in his 20’s and the other in his 30’s, have been released pending further investigation and lab results on the contents of alleged drugs found in the vehicle. Criminal charges related to the possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking are expected to be recommended.

The drugs are estimated to be worth about $3,000,000 with a street value of approximately $4,500,000.
