Vancouver Career College to get maximum budget from $6.7 million funding of CIC in 2014-15 to support ESL programs

Victoria: Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will continue to fund English language programming through agreements with service delivery organizations such as not-for-profit agencies and some post-secondary institutions in BC. Nine public post-secondary institutions will receive an additional $6.7 million in 2014-15 to support English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. This funding complements the $10.5 million announced last month, for a total of $17.2 million.
Vancouver Community College will receive $3.25 million, maximum part of the funding. BCIT will get $218,000 while KPU will receive $558,000 and Langara College $318,000. Camosun College, Douglas College, University of the Fraser Valley, Capilano University, and Okanagan College will also receive some part of the funding.
