Surrey RCMP is advising the public of a fatal shooting that occurred this morning in South Surrey.
At approximately 9:20 am, on August 2, 2019, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the drive-thru of a financial institution in the 3000-block of 152 Street. Officers arrived and located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency Health Services attended. Despite all attempts to revive the individual, the male succumbed to his injuries.
Two suspects initially fled from the scene, in a vehicle and then on foot, and have both been apprehended.
The investigation is in its early stages, however, initial indications are that this is a targeted incident. Surrey RCMP will be engaging with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) as the investigation progresses.
