HALIFAX: The Canadian Hurricane Centre says tropical storm Henri does not pose a threat to land, but parts of Newfoundland could receive heavy rain Saturday.

The centre says the storm will likely stay offshore, but southeastern Newfoundland could receive 20 to 40 millimetres Saturday morning.

However, the centre says there’s a possibility Henri will dissipate as it moves away from the warm Gulf Stream waters, which would result in very little impact in Atlantic Canada.
