THE objectives, which drive all of SikhRI’s (Sikh Research Institute Canada) work and programming, are:
1. Research Sikh scriptures, history, texts, lifestyles and demographics
2. Educate the public by providing courses, seminars and workshops about the Sikh Faith
3. Empower and educate youth by providing leadership training programs
SikhRI Canada became a registered charity in 2010 so that they could plan programs that specifically address the concerns of Sikhs in Canada. Being recognized as a non-profit organization with a charitable number has been a major step forward for SikhRI. They are now in a position to accept financial help from supporters and provide them with an official receipt for your donations.
This year SikRI’s annual fundraising event will be a luncheon on Sunday, October 27 at India Banquet Hall, 13030 76 Avenue, Surrey. Harinder Singh, Chief Executive Officer of SikhRI, will deliver the keynote address on: “Fall in Love with Sikhi.”
Tickets to the luncheon are free but we welcome any donation. SikhRI hopes that you and your family will be sponsors for the event. Your sponsorship would not only assist them with their event cost but would also ensure they can continue with their programs for 2014.
Contact Baljinder Kaur Narang, President, SikhRI Canada, or Lali Pawa, Coordinator, at 604-505-0502, to discuss opportunities for partnership.
