Toronto: A published report says Rogers Media Inc. is cutting about 100 jobs from its television operations, mainly at its Omni multicultural stations.

The Globe and Mail reports that Rogers Media, a subsidiary of Rogers Communications (TSX:RCI.B), will no longer produce Omni newscasts, which air in Cantonese, Italian, Mandarin and Punjabi.

A spokeswoman with Rogers declined to comment to The Canadian Press on the report, but says the company would have more to say later today.

The Globe report did not cite the source of its information.
