GUYS, look at these photos of two RCMP officers in a Halloween-themed appearance as they monitor and broadcast traffic infractions to the enforcement team at 152nd and 32 Avenue in Surrey on Tuesday (October 29) to promote road safety during this season.

I thought it was pretty cool – indeed, superb – though a member of our staff exclaimed: “SCARY!” when I told her about it.

Yep, it should be scary for those who don’t respect driving rules.

The cops were checking for dangerous driving offences, such as not wearing seatbelts, using electronic devices and disobeying traffic lights at intersections.

A total of 45 violation tickets were issued, including 28 for distracted driving offences. The initiative was a joint effort between Lower Mainland District Traffic Services and Surrey RCMP Traffic Services.
Great idea, indeed!

Next, we should have a SANTA CLAUS OPERATION!

Ho! Ho! Ho!
