Surrey RCMP is currently investigating an incident of dangerous driving and assault involving multiple individuals and vehicles in the Newton area on Saturday night.

On April 27, at approximately 7:45 p.m. Surrey RCMP Frontline members responded to the area of 135A Street and 88 Avenue after receiving multiple 911 calls of vehicles driving dangerously and people fighting in the street. Upon arrival, officers located three males who were involved in the incident. All three males were transported to hospital, two with minor injuries and one with serious injuries.  Two vehicles were also located at the scene, a Nissan Maxima and a Ford Taurus. Both vehicles have been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police believe the parties involved in this occurrence are known to each other and this may be linked to the Lower Mainland Gang conflict. The investigation is ongoing and investigators are looking for the other individuals and vehicles, a red Dodge Caravan, a Black Volkswagon Jetta and a burgundy Honda Accord, involved in this event.

Although some initial reports indicated shots had been fired in this incident, police can confirm that no shots were fired.

Investigators are aware of videos of this incident that are circulating on social media and ask if anyone has video of the incident or has information about this event or the individuals involved, to please contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
