Surrey: Prime Minister Stephen Harper spent the first half of Thursday afternoon meeting with members of the ethnic media at Fibertech Distributors Inc in the heart of the Newton Riding.
Bill C24 was something the Prime Minister raised off the top. He spent some time clarifying aspects of the legislation concerning the loss of citizenship for dual citizens involved in terrorism or treason,
Questions from the reporters ranged over several topics including his view of how the campaign was going, the Trans Pacific Partnership, pharmaceuticals, and family reunion.
The PM was accompanied by Surrey candidates Harpreet Singh running in Newton, Sucha Thind running in Surrey Centre, Nina Grewal from Fleetwood-Port Kells and Dianne Watts running in South Surrey White Rock.
Following the media event, the PM attended a rally in Surrey which was interrupted when one protester tried to approach Harper on the stage, and was hustled off by his security unit. He was also heckled by another protester in the audience who was also removed, along with a third who held up a protest sign.
