Langley: Another pedestrian was injured in a collision yesterday while trying to cross the very busy Fraser Highway between intersections. Langley Traffic Services attended to investigate at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses advise the female pedestrian was crossing from Willowbrook Mall to the Esso Station and had made it halfway across to the center median. After letting some traffic pass by, she stepped out to cross and was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The injured woman was transported to hospital via Air Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. She sustained some bruising and a broken pelvis.
The driver of the vehicle was shaken by the event but uninjured. Langley RCMP Client Support and Victim Services will provide any necessary support needed.
Incredulously, while officers continued with their investigation, other pedestrians tried to do the exact same thing. Fortunately, in this instance, the woman will recover but is one or two minute’s time saved by not making your way to a nearby pedestrian crosswalk worth ANY injury?
