Karachi: In energy sector, Pakistan is likely to get investments from France. Ambassador of France to Pakistan Philippe Thiebaud said that French companies were making fresh investment around $200 million in Pakistan. The foreign direct investment by French companies will help strengthening economic ties between the two countries, he said.

Responding to a question about France’s cooperation with Pakistan in nuclear power generation, the ambassador said the development of such power projects took about eight to 10 years and demanded massive investment.

He maintained that his country was ready to help develop green energy generation projects in Pakistan. He offered his country assistance to provincial governments in developing green energy projects like offshore and inland windmills.
