Vancouver: Prices at the pump are once again on the rise, and Opposition Leader Andrew Wilkinson is calling on the NDP to take immediate action to ease the burden on B.C. families.
“The NDP could act today to help drivers by reducing the Provincial Motor Fuel Tax,” says Wilkinson. “In fact, John Horgan should have taken action when we first urged this last spring. This is a government that claims to care about affordability. They talk the talk but they never walk the walk.”
British Columbians pay the highest gas taxes in North America. Under the previous BC Liberal government, citizens received a tax break to compensate for these high costs. The NDP cancelled that refund when they became government.
