Nanaimo Shooting: Two dead, two injured in shooting at Western Forest Products Mill

Nanaimo: Kevin Douglas Addison, 47, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. He was arrested after a shooting at the Western Forest Products mill in Nanaimo, B.C. on Wednesday morning. Mike Lunn, 61, and Fred McEachern, 53, died of their injuries, while two other men are in hospital with “significant injuries,” said RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien.

Statement from Nanaimo RCMP Detachment Commander Supt. Mark Fisher:

Nanaimo RCMP received multiple 9-1-1 calls about shots being fired at the Western Forest Products Mill in Nanaimo early Wednesday. Multiple police officers immediately responded, including Emergency Response Team members, with the first officer arriving three minutes after the 9-1-1 call came in.A lone male suspect was arrested without incident a few minutes later by an Emergency Response Team member. Police officers also quickly worked to search the entire building for additional threats, and injured victims. No other suspects were found.
