Surrey: The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has secured homicide related charges in connection to the murder of 17 year old Serena Vermeersch.
One male has been arrested and is currently in custody. As there is a publication ban, IHIT did not released the identity of the accused. The accused is known to police and it is not believed that Serena and the accused knew each other.
IHIT said, “we are currently working with Crown to determine the authority in which the publication ban was granted. If the circumstances change and the identity can be released.”
