Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Faculty of Trades and Technology is growing with a new manufacturing diploma. The new mechatronics program, launching in fall 2018, combines electronics with mechanical, computer, and control engineering to prepare students for a range of roles in manufacturing, telecommunications, biotechnology, agriculture, green technology, aerospace, and more.

The program, which can be completed in four semesters, is aligned to the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification program, an internationally recognized global leader in mechatronics and automated technologies. KPU’s program provides students with the opportunity to obtain their Siemens Mechatronics Certification in Level 1 and 2.

The program includes courses in computer numerical control programming, renewable energy, and computer controlled autonomous systems. Students will develop their expertise and gain hands-on experience in machining, welding, and metal fabrication. Learn more about mechatronics and the Faculty of Trades and Technology at
