Delta: On December 28, 2016 Delta Police responded to two separate incidents of break and enter that occurred within a 24 hour period and both occurring in the overnight hours. In one incident the suspect was observed at approximately 4.55 a.m. rummaging through a storage/garage area but was scared off by the complainant when he yelled out. The suspect left behind a couple of sweaters that have been seized for forensic examination. No theft occurred in this case.
In the second instance, in the late night/overnight hours of December 28/29 an unknown suspect gained entry to a residence in the 6600 blk of Kent Cres. The suspect gained entry through a laundry room door from the carport stealing a variety of items including a computer and I-phone.
Although these incidents are similar they have not been linked, however, investigations into these incidents are ongoing.
The Delta Police are reminding the general public to ensure all doors and windows are secured and locked. It is suggested to have exterior lights on around your property to discourage those that would gain entry under the dark of night.
Delta Police also encourage citizens to call and report any suspicious person or activity anytime. Working together is an important key in our effort to maintaining the safety of our community.
