In the Italian Community, socializing and eating meals together is a trend for many centuries, when Italian families get together, the food is the main focus, food that is fresh and prepared with lots of love and passion, same can be said about Passion of Pasta Salvatore’s La Spaghetteria Pasta House. This restaurant is located between 3 and Queens Avenue in New Westminster on 6th Street.

This restaurant is being there for almost over three decades so anyone who is craving for fresh homemade pasta hits out to La Spaghetteria Pasta House. When I walked in on a Tuesday night thinking its so cold outside maybe the restaurant will be empty, but in no time, people starting filling in the place, most customers I noticed they didn’t waste anytime going though the menu, they knew exactly what to order.

When I arrived I was seated right away and in no time the hot oven baked bread arrived with the dipping sauce of pure olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The menu is huge which includes homemade cannelloni, vegetable primavera with home made rigatoni, home made pasta seafood combination in rosa saue, and spinach seafood. All of these above you can have during lunch for $8:95 and dinner for $9:95, it’s a steal for the amount of food they serve you.

I had baked Sockeye salmon with Polenta and mushroom gravy, and on the side came basil and garlic pesto with spaghetti.  There is no way one person can finish the whole plate, as I mentioned the servings are huge.  When it came for dessert, it doesn’t matter how big my eyes are but my stomach wouldn’t take it anymore. Food and service both were fantastic.

“We have a banquet facility upstairs, which can handle about 40 people, every weekend the place is booked, for anyone over 25 people we have a set menu which works out to be between $15 to $20 per person, you can book it for all occasion” said Mr. Salvatore Fancello the owner.

The décor is very tastefully done, with light green paint on the ceiling, large mirrors on the wall, as well as artwork. Lunch is from 11am to 2pm and dinner from 4:30 until 10 pm or whenever the last customer leaves. They are open for Lunch everyday except on Saturdays.
