Surrey Campus (27)Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Surrey campus is hosting an open house on Saturday, March 5 from 11am-3pm, and you’re invited! This free, family-friendly event features something for everyone with engaging talks, contests, exhibits from KPU’s faculties, and a chance to win great prizes—including one of three, $500 tuition waivers.

Take a guided tour of the campus while learning about KPU’s range of programs and students services. Explore the classrooms, study spaces, stop by the library, and check out the labs while asking questions and learning more about student life. Tours will be given by current students and recent graduates who can answer questions and share their unique experiences.

Embrace your inner artist, get your hands dirty and test your creativity with screen printing, and watch a live demonstration of students making Open-House-2014 (25)ceramic bowls. Or, check out a 3D printer in action. Smile for the camera and snap a selfie at one of the designated “selfie stations” or jump in the photo booth and strike a pose. Grab your smart phone and post on social media to see yourself tagged on the live social media wall. Snag a free bag of fresh popcorn and discover the many different types of malt, hops, and other ingredients that go into craft beer.

Keep your eyes peeled throughout the day for prize wheels you can spin. Witness a chemistry magic show and learn how to dance from the pros as you watch a salsa performance. Play fun mini games like math puzzles and sentence scrambles, or get an airbrush tattoo or some henna art.

Sit down with individuals from co-op and career services and have your résumé and cover letter reviewed, and let representatives from the Faculty of Health check your blood pressure.

KPU offers students a choice of more than 120 programs in seven faculties—arts, design, science and horticulture, health, business, trades, and academic and career advancement—where learners can pursue a degree, diploma, certificate, citation, or work towards their apprenticeship.

Wondering how to apply to KPU? Curious what the requirements are? Listen to engaging information sessions and connect directly with various KPU students, faculty, alumni, and representatives who can answer questions and provide more information.

The KPU open house is happening Saturday, March 5 from 11am-3pm at the KPU Surrey campus—12666 72 Avenue. For more information or to register, visit kpu.ca/openhouse
