Building a massive following on social media is one of the most effective ways to promote your business, drive an abundance of traffic to your website and ultimately increase your profits.

In fact, if you get a big enough following on any one of the social media channels this can become a money-making venture in its own right. For business owners, this is a fantastic way to let your customers know about new products and services that will drive a ton of traffic to your site.

This is part two of a three part series that will get the engine humming with eyeballs to your social channels and ultimately to your website. If you follow the steps I layout for you here and in part one and part three to follow, you’ll be a long way towards transforming to a social media marketing lifestyle with a bonus of optimizing your website for search visibility.

Use the analytics tool

Google offers you an effective analytics tool under the “Acquisition” section on Google Analytics so use this tool to get a clear picture of your social engagement. You should be making decisions based on actual data; so whenever you post new content, consider how the last post faired and see how you can make more of an impact. Twitter offers an analytics tool as well, so you could use that to compare notes, or look into other tools available to you. All this information will help make your strategy better for your business.

Share website links while posting content

At this stage your priority should be to boost engagement and build your profile. Talk directly to your customers and answer any questions they may have regarding products or services, so that over time they get to know you and build a relationship with you. Find a balance between sending links and sending content. You don’t want your posts to be riddled with links – especially if you’re operating outside of Twitter.

Make sure your website is included in all social networks

It should be one of your first moves so make sure when creating a new social program for your business, include the website URL in all social platforms. Have it visible on Google+, Google My Business, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Instagram, and everywhere your customers hangout.
