Health and Technology District Celebrates Innovation and Surrey’s Startup Community

    Surrey: The Health and Technology District hosted an intimate breakfast panel discussion with the Honourable Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion on August 26. The discussion highlighted some of the success stories and concerns from local entrepreneurs and speakers from Surrey’s growing business community.

    Speakers were Anita Huberman, CEO of Surrey Board of Trade, Dr. Ryan D’Arcy, President and Co-founder of HealthTech Connex, Gautam Sadarangani, President and Co-founder of BioInteractive Technologies, and Karimah Es Sabar, CEO & Partner at Quark Venture Inc.

    The Health and Technology District is one of B.C.’s most rapidly growing and dynamic health-tech sectors from Surrey’s emerging innovation ecosystem.

    As the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, Minister Ng helps Canadian businesses start up, scale up, and access new markets. She is also leading the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy which seeks to double the number of women entrepreneurs by 2025.
