Interested in going back to school? Need to upgrade your courses? Now you can, tuition-free. Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) biology, chemistry, math, physics, and English upgrading courses, as well as English Language Studies courses, are all now tuition exempt.

Individuals who enroll in these courses will not pay tuition, however mandatory student fees still apply. Learners will also still be responsible for purchasing required textbooks and course materials. The Adult Upgrading Grant, a grant for those enrolled in skills upgrading and English as a second language courses, is still available to cover the cost of fees for those who qualify.

The exemption applies to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, refugees, and diplomats.

To apply for tuition-exempt upgrading courses, or English Language Studies, individuals can follow the normal online application process at kpu.ca/apply. Testing and assessments may still be required.
