Islamabad: At least four people, including three soldiers, were killed and a dozen others got wounded in a suicide attack on an army check post in Pakistan’s northwest tribal area of North Waziristan, officials said.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army’s mouthpiece, said the paramilitary Frontier Corps personnel came under attack when they were setting up a small checkpoint near Boya check post in North Waziristan agency.

A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into the checkpoint, killing three soldiers and a child, while 12 others, including two women, got injured, the army said.

The injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.
