Female pedestrian injured on Trans-Canada in Abbotsford

Abbotsford: A female pedestrian was struck by a commercial vehicle in Abbotsford afternoon is expected to survive.

The RCMP Fraser Valley Traffic Services, Abbotsford Police Department, ICARS, CVSE and the BC ambulance service all attended and eastbound traffic was diverted on to Exit 90 through Abbotsford for about three-and-a-half hours.

RCMP said that the 48-year-old woman has numerous broken bones after she was hit on Highway 1 in Abbotsford. She was taken to hospital.

Speed and alcohol are not suspected factors in this incident.

Any witnesses who may have information on this crash are asked to call RCMP at 604-702-4039.

The 17-year-old boy driving the small car was airlifted to hospital in Kelowna.
