North Vancouver: An Edmonton couple who were in town to attend a wedding were robbed by three men at gun point in their North Vancouver hotel. In the early morning hours of last Saturday three men entered the hotel room of the two victims and robbed them at gun point. Violence and threats were used to rob them of their personal effects which included cell phones, wallets, cash, jewelry and an IPad. The male victim received injuries to his head.
Police attended the hotel location and, with the help of the victim, were able to identify the main suspect through a picture on Facebook. The suspect, who used an alias name, was known only to the victims as a friend of a mutual friend.
Subsequent to the police investigation, a search warrant was executed on Sunday April 13, 2014 at a North Vancouver residence where three men were arrested. The arrest was made with the assistance of the Lower Mainland ERT team where the stolen property, drugs and a handgun, was seized.
All three men, who are well known to police, were taken into police custody where 26 year old Liban Robleh of North Vancouver was charged with three counts of firearms offences. Liban Robleh appeared in court and was remanded in custody until April 17, 2014. As the investigation unfolds additional criminal charges are expected against the accused along with the other two adult male suspects.
