police vehicle Integrated first nations unitNorth Vancouver: 10th Annual Domestic Violence Prevention Rally will march from St. Paul’s Church to the Squamish Nation Youth Pow Wow Grounds on Mathias Road in West Vancouver at 10:00 am on August 31.

The Integrated First Nations Unit (IFNU) of the North Vancouver RCMP invites all community members to join in support of the Rally. The participants will march from St. Paul’s Church to the Squamish Nation Youth Pow Wow Grounds on Mathias Road in West Vancouver. The march will begin at 10:00 am on Sunday from St. Paul’s Church, 424 West Esplanade Avenue in North Vancouver.

The rally is a show of support for victims of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence and marchers will again draw motivation from a phrase in the Squamish Language, “Nobody Should Suffer In Silence”. Many victims of Sexual Abuse or Domestic Violence offences suffer silently, afraid to come forward for help.

The rally is open to everyone wishing to show their support. Traffic control will be in effect along the parade route to ensure safety of participating marchers.
