Surrey: A Sign bylaw communication strategy is currently being developed to inform and educate the commercial and industrial business owners, property owners and managers, sign companies and developers about the new by-law.  City of Surrey will soon implement the amended bylaw which was approved in July last year. Under the new bylaw several existing regulations have been deleted and some new rules have been outlined. Some of the major amendments include: Restrictions on the number and size of window signs and prohibition on window signs above ground floor; Prohibition on sandwich board signs on roads; Prohibition on free-standing signs for buildings located close to the roads; Increase in the number of fascia signs on a building (up to two signs to be permitted and up to six signs on larger buildings); and Restrictions on fascia signs on floors above ground floor.
