Surrey: Port Metro Vancouver (PMV) announced on Tuesday that they will be amending the Truck Licencing System agreements so that the smaller truck operators (five to nine trucks) will now be charged $25,000 annually versus the previous $35,000 minimum annual charge.
Today M.P. Sarai issued the following statement: “This is a step in the right direction; this decision from PMV ensures a more level playing field for the many people who make their living in the trucking industry here in the Lower Mainland.
I have been advocating for this sort of change for quite some time with both PMV and port operators. I know that this decision means there will be less barriers and costs for small businesses that that work in the trucking industry.”
