VICTORIA – Bruce Ralston, MLA for Surrey-Whalley and critic for international trade, immigration, and multiculturalism, will serve as the new house leader for the Official Opposition, said New Democrat leader Adrian Dix.
“A greatly respected member of our caucus, Bruce has agreed to take on this new role, replacing John Horgan as he pursues his candidacy in the leadership race,” said Dix.
Horgan, who was named the New Democrat house leader in Spring 2011, will continue his role as the opposition’s energy critic. He, along with finance critic and leadership contender Mike Farnworth, will also continue to serve on the caucus house management committee.

Both Mike and Horgan have entered the race for September NDP leadership election.
