ON Wednesday, December 4, a 17-year-old offender pled guilty to attempting to obstruct justice at the Surrey Provincial Court in relation to the homicide of Branson Sanders. The victim’s severely burned body was located in Burnaby on December 2, 2011.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believe that Branson was dumped at the location where he was found and the homicide occurred at a residence in the 18000 block of 55 Avenue in Surrey.

Two other males, Shakib Shakib and Brandon Nandan, both 20, were arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection to this homicide. Both males appeared in Surrey Provincial Court on December 5 and pled guilty to manslaughter.

Their sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 7. The 17-year-old offender’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 18.
