Bollywood has been seeing a growing trend of big budget films for some time but the reality is that more and more South Indian films are being made at whopping budgets and the latest to join the band wagon is another Southie BAHUBALI, which is projected to cost over Rs.250-300 Crores and certainly beats its rivals by a huge margin. S.S.Rajamali’s Telugu film is also being made in Tamil & English and dubbed in Hindi & Malyalam and will open in 4,000 screens in India and over 200 screens in USA alone, with many projecting the film to break all box-office records in India by the very first week. The very fact that KARAN JOHAR has bought the distribution rights for the Hindi version, speaks of its potential as the film’s second part will release in January 2016. Shahid & Mira’s Wedding Reception will be huge in Bollywood!!!
A simple wedding in Delhi with kirtan by Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji and attended by close friends and relatives was followed by a huge reception at Gurgaon’s Oberoi Hotel, which was attended by over 500 guests but all eyes are on this weekend’s Mumbai reception and everyone is talking about the ‘ Who’s Who ‘ amongst the Bollywood glitterati . To start with, magazines & TV stations are talking about the possible guests and many are wondering if any of Shahid Kapoor’s ex-girlfriends have been invited and indeed, it’s going to be a spectacle to see KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN, VIDYA BALAN KAPUR, AMRITA RAO, PRIYANKA CHOPRA & SONAKSHI SINHA. Shahid’s close friends and relatives will obviously be there but some like Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Ajay Devgun, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson & Rohit Shetty will surely be missed as they’re shooting for various films in Europe but irrespective, a large number of bollywood artists will be attending the reception on July 11, which as per some, could be the biggest gathering of bollywood for some time!!!
Wedding Bells for Minissha & Ryan in Mumbai!!!
While everyone was busy talking about SHAHID-MIRA wedding in Delhi, MINISSHA LAMBA, the popular actress of YAHAN, BACHNA AE HASEENO, HONEYMOON TRAVELS, KIDNAP & WELL DONE ABBA, surprised all by quietly marrying RYAN THAM, the young owner of Trilogy Nightclub in Mumbai & brother-in-law of actress & TV host POOJA BEDI, at a civil ceremony in Mumbai on July 6th ! ASIAN JOURNAL wishes both a very happy married life!
ABCD 2 Crosses Rs.100 Crores!!!
As expected, the dance juggernaut of REMO FERNANDES easily became the second Bollywood film to cross Rs. 100 Crores in domestic box-office after TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS and everyone associated with ABCD 2 is celebrating big time. VARUN DHAWAN, SHRADDHA KAPOOR, PRABHU DEVA & LAUREN GATLIEB are on cloud nine and Remo has already announced plans for ABCD 3, though the star cast is not finalised yet, and T-Series has already signed him for two more films . Let’s see how much more the dance film will make over all!
Last week’s GUDDU RANGEELA did not make the same impact as the last film of director Subhash Kapoor, however, this week will see five films clashing at the box-office and they’re BAHUBALI (India’s most expensive film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi & Malyalam), Sunny Deol & Kangana Ranaut’s long delayed I LOVE NEW YEAR, 2 CHEHARE, MERE GENIE UNCLE & THODA LUTF THODA ISHQ and with Karan Johar’s backing, BAHUBALI is probably the only one to make any impression as next week, SALMAN KHAN’s EID release of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN is expected to sweep everything. Many prominent Bollywood stars are out of India to shoot for their respective films and while Hrithik Roshan & Sonam Kapoor just returned from Turkey, Shahrukh Khan & Kajol are shooting for Rohit Shetty’s DILWALE in Serbia, Ajay Devgun is shooting for SHIVJAAY and Akshay Kumar & Amy Jackson are shooting for SINGH IS BLINGG in Romania . This week’s YAADEIN will talk about 20 Greatest Bollywood Singers of All Time on Sunday, July 12th @ SMC # 116 at 1 PM and with that, it’s time to say KHUSHIALI MUBARAK to all Ismaili community as they celebrate it at all Jamaatkhanas on Saturday, July 11th !
