DO KISHORE (Two Kishore’s) is a tribute to KISHORE KUMAR, India’s greatest entertainer, and as RIVER ROCK Casino Resort is ready to host Bollywood’s first ever concert this Sunday (October 20) by his sons AMIT and SUMEET KUMAR, I think it’s time to talk about India’s most versatile singer Kishore Kumar, whose 26th death anniversary was marked on October 13 all over the world. Born to a Bengali Ganguly family on August 26, 1929, as ABHAS KUMAR GANGULY, he started singing from a very young age and always considered KUNDAN LAL SAIGAL as his guru. Though he never had any formal training, he used to sing the songs of K. L. Saigal and of his elder brother ASHOK KUMAR at family functions and it was natural for him to follow his elder brother to Bombay (Mumbai) as he was a well-known actor and producer.
