Suva: The admission of six dengue patients at Rakiraki Hospital in the past 10 days means dengue is on the rise again in the province, says Ra Health Inspector Rakesh Chandra.
“This means people are still not clearing the potential breeding sites from their compounds,” he said.
“To date 58 confirmed cases have been recorded in Ra but already six have been admitted this month despite the intervention programs being aggressively carried out over the two months.”
He said 80 per cent of cases in Ra were recorded in the Rakiraki area because of the high population and clustering of communities.
