Coquitlam: A 28 year-old Surrey resident is facing multiple charges relating to firearms offences following a drive by shooting in a residential neighbourhood in Coquitlam.

Coquitlam RCMP responded to a report of shots fired into an unoccupied vehicle along the 1200 block of Thomas Avenue, shortly after 10 p.m. on October 10th, 2016. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was located a short time later by police in Surrey. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident.

The shooting was considered to be a targeted incident, as both parties involved were known to each other.

The Coquitlam RCMP Investigative Support Team assumed conduct of the investigation and gathered an extensive amount of evidence and information to support criminal charges.

On November 18th, Jonathan Fall was taken into custody and charged with Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner, Careless Use of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon and Transport of a non-restricted Firearm.

Jonathan Fall was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 28th at the Port Coquitlam Provincial Court House.

With the potential for additional charges, Coquitlam RCMP are requesting that any witnesses that have yet to speak with police come forward immediately.
