Vancouver: Consulate General of India to Vancouver, Mrs. Abhilasha Joshi, hosted Indian Federal Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar during his visit to Vancouver for the 17th World Sanskrit Conference held on July 9 at UBC. Indian High Commissioner Vikas Swarup flew in from Ottawa for the occasion.

Minister Javadekar shed light on the Modi government’s achievements in the past four years and how India is transforming in cleanliness, girl child education, energy conservation, corruption, and GST implementation. Aditya Tawatia presented him with a memorandum on behalf of the Canada India Chamber Forum which suggested reform in education, research and industry sectors.

There was a luncheon in his honour held on July 10th at Riverside Banquet Hall which was attended by over 200 guests including noted UBC professor Dr. Nemy Benthia, business person Barj Dahan, philanthropist Hari Varshney, Aditya Tawatia and many more.
