Richmond Campus 2017-1_rsz Richmond Campus 2017-7_rszKwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Richmond campus is preparing to host their annual Discovery Day event for high school students on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Students getting ready to enter post-secondary studies are invited to spend their pro-d day on campus, connecting with current students, faculty, and advisors. Attendees can participate in a mock class, and take part in an on-campus scavenger hunt, with a chance to win great prizes.

Discovery Day participants are also invited on a guided tour of the campus exploring classrooms, study lounges, the library, and unique lab spaces. The Richmond campus is home to the Wilson School of Design (which is gaining a new building set to open in 2018), and the university’s acupuncture lab, which supports the Traditional Chinese Medicine-Acupuncture diploma. In addition, KPU’s sustainable agriculture degree, a program that’s unique to North America, is based out of the Richmond campus, along with a diverse mix of arts, science and horticulture, business, and academic and career advancement courses.

Many of KPU’s programs and courses feature opportunities for hands-on learning through practicums, co-operative education options, group work, and more, combining traditional academics with real-world experience. Courses are taught by expert faculty with extensive experience in their field. KPU has strong ties to the community and various professional organizations, ensuring students are well prepared to enter the workforce and make a positive difference in their communities.

For more than 30 years, Kwantlen Polytechnic University has provided students with the skills they need for the careers they want. KPU offers a range of degree, diploma, certificate, and citation programs with opportunities for hands-on experience and experiential learning. Why stop at theory, when you can also harness the power of experience? Launch your career and make a positive impact on your community with experiential learning at KPU: where thought meets action.
