Abbotsford: On Sunday, January 1, 2017, at 6:00 pm a male customer entered a jewelry store in Seven Oaks Mall in the 32900 block of South Fraser Way.  The male selected various items with the assistance of a female store employee but instead of providing payment he produced a knife and demanded cash.  The male fled the store with cash and the jewelry he selected.

APD Patrol Division and K9 officers deployed into the area around Seven Oaks Mall and a male suspect was observed in the mall parking lot.  After a short foot pursuit and K9 track the suspect was taken into custody in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant adjacent to the mall.

The Abbotsford Police Department will be recommending a charge of robbery against the 28-year-old suspect.  The man was also wanted for the robbery of a Chilliwack restaurant and is considered a suspect in a number of other recent Fraser Valley robberies.
